The new XCPro2 is a thoroughbred race machine for 90-100mm travel forks, it has been developed and refined over 4 years of competition and race condition tested by our Kinesis UK race team producing some outstanding results.
The XCPro2 uses super lightweight, oversize Kinesium tubing. The down tube is Aero profile at the top and changes to a large oval section at the machined BB for maximum stiffness and weld area, the top tube is teardrop section near the head tube changing to round and then square section at the seat tube junction. This custom drawn tubing allows us to optimise tubing wall thickness, giving a super light frame, which retains strength and stiffness at the crucial areas.
The ‘tuned carbon wishbone’ seatstays, have been developed in conjunction with Kinesis International to match the characteristics of the XCPro2 frame perfectly, the stays are direct in response to drive and allow some vertical compliance for comfort.
New lightweight CNC machined dropouts mate to stiff, hydroformed chainstays making sure no power is wasted. The XCPro2 stack height is kept low by the use of a new Zero stack headtube, the larger dia. of this tube also adds weld area, meaning greater strength and stiffness, further enhanced by the box head tube gusset. There are 3 great looking colourways, including our exclusive new ‘Tungsten Silver’ paint finish.

The MaxLight XC Pro 2 is the 2006 version of the frankly excellent 05 model.
It was (and still is) one of the most comfortable and efficient cross-country race hardtails we've ever ridden. The XC Pro 2 is set to be even better. Still retailing at £399, the Kinesium alloy-framed bike has an integrated headset to lower the front end a touch and also neatened up dropouts. However, the biggest change is the addition of carbon fibre 'tuned' seatstays that allow for a degree of vertical compliance, not that last year's version was uncomfortable. The graphics have been updated to make the frame look a bit sharper too.

HYGIA USAGI Hydraulic Disc Brake Superlite 265g.
The Usagi is billed as Hygia's XC brake, and that very much it is, offering a good combo of modulation and power in a svelte package. You can dial tool-free, with the red knobs and pad contact can also be tweaked with an allen key. The brakes use DOT and we've spec'd them with stainless steel braided lines, so no need for aftermarket hop-ups there. The levers are designed to be used by one or two fingers, and give very good tactile feedback without being overly firm.
All Hygia brakes use Shimano XT/XTR brake pads, so you can replace, mix, and match pad compounds to your heart's content. We paired them with Ashima Airotors initially, but when we swapped over the stock Hygia rotors (around 102g each), lever feel and power improved dramatically.
The Usagis come in black and in white.

Bemærkninger
Så er min mtb blevet færdig opgraderet. Vægten er nu på 10,1 kg. Dette er jo ikke det letteste, men i forhold til mit budget er det blevet ok og med 2 hjulsæt til forskellige underlag syndes jeg, at den er som den skal være.
